About Be The Change Reno
A grassroots nonprofit rooted in Reno since 2011.
We are neighbors, gardeners, artists, educators, builders, and volunteers who believe Reno can be more sustainable, more just, and more connected — and that the work starts in our own community.
Our mission
Mission
To promote sustainability, community resilience, service, education, environmental responsibility, and neighborhood improvement throughout the Reno area.
Our vision
Vision
A more just, beautiful, connected, and sustainable future for Reno — built together, block by block, season by season.
Our story
Community impact, one project at a time — since 2011.
Be The Change Reno started with a small group of neighbors who wanted to see more gardens, more art, and more care in their community. Over the years that spark grew into a network of programs that touch food, art, housing, water, waste, and education.
Today we're proud to run community workshops, host the beloved Reno Garlic Fest, paint public murals, restore soil through composting, and protect the Truckee River — all with volunteers and partners who make this work possible.
